  • When Christmas rolled around this year, I knew that I could expect a stocking filled with products from Bath & Body Works. After almost five years together, I know my fiance's habits. I had heard that they had a pink grapefruit scent, so I dropped several hints for him and hoped that he would remember them when it came time to select stocking stuffers. Sure enough, when I unloaded my Christmas stocking, it was loaded with BBW Pink Grapefruit products, including their Pink Grapefruit Eau de Toilette.

    About This Product
This fragrance was "inspired" by the BBW Pink Grapefruit scent so it is different from the creams, lotions, and body washes with the same name. According to the company site, it is a blend of grapefruit, valencia orange, kumquat, clementine, white musk, jasmine, and a few other things that I've never heard of before.

Bath & Body Works Pink Grapefruit Eau de Toilette is sold in a 1.7 ounce bottle with a spray-style dispenser. It costs $18.50 which I think is pretty reasonable for fragrance.

    My Experience
I have to admit that I cringed a little bit when I found this Pink Grapefruit Eau de Toilette in my stocking. As much as I love sharp, tangy grapefruit-scented lotions and scrubs, I just couldn't imagine wearing a perfume with that type of fragrance all day.

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it up and spritzed a bit onto my wrist. The scent was much softer than straight-up grapefruit and not as harsh as I expected it to be. That being said, I have to say that there is a very strong orange component to this scent which, in my opinion, overpowers the grapefruit notes. If one enjoys products with a grapefruit scent, why would BBW make the perfume smell like a different fruit?

Each morning, I put one spritz on each of my wrists and behind my ears before I head out the door. The fragrance is noticeable for an hour or two, but then it starts to quickly fade away. It starts out as a blend of orange and grapefruits, but as time passes, it becomes more of a musky fragrance with a hints of vanilla and jasmine. I do really like the scent of the Bath and Body Works Pink Grapefruit Eau de Toilette when I first put it on. I'm not a big fan of musky or floral fragrances, though, so I have found that I like it less as the day wears on and am not sad when it totally disappears after about three hours.

    Overall Opinion
I think it is ironic that this scent doesn't have enough of a grapefruit component for me... when I was afraid initially that it would be too strong and tart. Bath & Body Works Pink Grapefruit Eau de Toilette is an interesting fragrance but definitely one that changes over time. I will use up the bottle that I have but I probably won't buy it again.

Be swept away by the vibrant freshness of the Cypress and Grapefruit Eau de Toilette for men: a unique combination of Cypress, with its aromatic woody notes, in contrast with the invigorating bitterness of the Grapefruit essence.

  • The Bath and Body Works Pink Grapefruit Eau de Toilette comes in a 1.7 ounce rectangular glass spray bottle. It's fairly dumpy for perfume. I don't particularly care about that, but I know some folks display their perfume bottles almost as household decorations (my mother used to do this) and if you're one of them this perfume will not add value to your collection.

  • Bath and Body Works Pink Grapefruit Eau de Toilette has a pleasant scent, but it's not a pink grapefruit scent by any stretch of the imagination once it's interacted with your skin. Instead it's a light flowery scent. If you like that, don't mind that it won't match any other pink grapefruit products you own, and are willing to change a possible stinging reaction to its application, it's not a horrible perfume. However, if you actually want a pink grapefruit scent, don't want to risk a reaction, or want decorative perfume bottles, this product isn't for you. It's definitely not for me.

Canmake Make Me Happy Pink Grapefruit Eau de Toilette

As part of a recent online haul from The Body Shop I purchased this fruity Pink Grapefruit Eau de Toilette. I just love fruity fragrances and pink grapefruit is one of my favourites, I find it so uplifting and fresh (plus I often eat half a grapefruit for breakfast!).
