The tool comes standard with an SDS chuck and takes bits from 3/16" up to 1" in diameter. It will do it's best drilling from about 1/4" to 1/2". The tool is 500 watts, 115 volts, and strikes at an amazing 4000 blows per minute in its highest speed.

The main advantages that this tool provides are the following: 1) D-Handled grip for professional users provides you with the most user comfort and convenience and low operator fatigue. 2) Drills up to 16" per minute with a 3/8" diameter drill bit. 3) It has a quick changing chuck interface (keyed and keyless 1/2" Jacob's style chucks can be easily switched out for drilling into wood or steel.

If you purchase the tool through Hilti direct you will receive a two year full service warranty that covers all repair cost including shipping.

The TE-5 can usually be purchased by individuals as well as contractors for $350.00. This may sound a little expensive for a small hammer drill as compared to some other models by other manufacturers. However, you should consider that no other manufacturer of hammer drills will offer you a warranty that even comes close to the new warranty offered by Hilti and no other manufacturer of hammer drills has the kind of in the field support that Hilti offers. In other words, the initial price for a Hilti quality tool will no doubt be higher, but the tool will pay for itself.

Bottom line, if you looking for a small hammer drill, look no further than the Hilti TE-5.

In terms of manufacturing and construction of the tool, it is impressive, with a body that can last long. However, most tools that are meant to be this rugged and long-lasting tend to disappoint in terms of the internal quality. But the Milwaukee Hammer Drill doesn’t prove to be let down on this department either. The power tool is packed with quality and functionality, and is quite rare among the other small hammer drills and driver in its class. The drill itself is very light at 6.7 lbs, and is very comfortable to use.
